Technology Vocabulary : 

• Innovation – the action or process of innovating, a new method, idea, product, etc.
• Breakthrough – an act of making important discoveries.
• Cutting-edge – the most advanced.
• Tech-savvy – knowing a lot about modern technologies.
• user-friendly – easy to learn, use, understand, or deal with.
• computer literate – able to use computers and related technology efficiently;
• obsolete / outdated – no longer used because something newer exists : replaced by something newer.
• gadget / equipment (a piece of equipment) / appliance / device / hardware.
• e–commerce – activities that relate to the buying and selling of goods and services over the Internet.
• social media – forms of electronic communication through which users create online communities to share information, ideas, personal messages, and other content.
• blogs – a Web site on which someone writes about personal opinions, activities, and experiences. viral – quickly and widely circulated from one Internet user to another, as in “a viral video”.

• Shut down – To switch off completely.
• Wireless hotspots – public places where people can access the Internet via a wireless signal.
• SATNAV – Short for satellite navigation.
• Advanced – Modern and well-developed. Eg. Countries are protecting themselves with the more advanced weapons than ever before.
• Molecular Biology – Study of the things which form the structure of living matters.
• Automation – To make a process in a factory or office operate by machines or computers, in order to reduce the amount of work done by humans and the time taken to do the work.
• User-friendly – If something, especially something related to a computer, is user-friendly, it is simple for people to use. Eg. Companies are trying to manufacture more user-friendly equipment so that every person can use it easily.

• Technophobe – A person who is terrified of modern technology.
• Technophile – A person who is very interested in modern technology.
• Genetic Engineering – The technique used to change the genetic composition of a cell so as to change certain characteristics which can be inherited.
• Cybernetics – it tells how information is communicated in machines and electronic devices in comparison with how it is communicated in the brain and nervous system.
• Safeguard – Protection. Eg. Safeguard against accidents in this laboratory are minimal.
• Life expectancy – The number of years a person is likely to live. Eg. Life-expectancy has increased a great deal thanks to modern medicine and technology.
